Derrick Houle
– Chief Executive Officer
Derrick Houle is from Saddle Lake Alberta where he served as the Director of Emergency Management during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Based on his pandemic experience, he has faced the true urgency within First Nations communities for communications. As a father and business owner, he has dealt with the limitations existing within all nations when it comes to training, accessibility, and opportunity. It is his desire to change that with SSCI as a unique provider of Internet services to all First Nations communities who are interested in Sovereignty and self-determination. Derrick completed his Native Studies Degree and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta and works continuously to advance First Nations within the Business world and for economic access.
Dr. Deborah Dion
– Chair of Board
Dr. Deborah Dion received a Doctoral degree in Business Administration concentrating on the roles of business administrators and leaders. Her dissertation, “The value of leadership development for First Nation Leaders” was approved in 2016 from the University of Phoenix, Phoenix, Arizona. Currently, a professor at the Maskwacis Cultural College, she has also taught in a Tribal College at Stone Child College, Montana, United States. With extensive knowledge as a Business/Financial manager from employment at the Rocky Boy Schools in Box Elder, Montana, she has annually updated her managerial skills at Montana Association of School Business Officials conferences. Deborah is delighted to be back home in Maskwacis and offers her expertise with the First Nation.
